Well Known Citizen of Elgin Passes Away The death of David Tucker occurred in this city, Wednesday, October 11, 1905, at 3:40 p.m. after an illness of only a few days. Death was due to valvular heart disease. Gardiner D. Tucker was born in Fulton County, Arkansas, January 29, 1872, and was therefore 33 years, 11 months and 12 days old at the time of death. C., and then transferred to Camp Sevier, S. C. Sailed for France July, 1918. Fought in all engagements of the 321st Inf. Returned to the USA July 2, 1919, and mustered out of the service at Camp Lee, Va., July 12, 1919.

LEVI TUCKER was born March 13, 1828, in Todd County, Ky. His parents were Joshua and Betsey (Powell) Tucker, both natives of North Carolina. The original work was painstakingly copied by Catherine Lindsay Knorr and published in 1951. The book spans 119 pages and includes a wealth of historical data on marriages that took place in this Virginia county. This publication presents several challenges for readers. Some pages are slightly tattered and torn, and the manuscript features irregular pagination. Additionally, there are tight or nonexistent margins, particularly at the bottom of the pages, and one page is typed on different paper than the rest.

Descendants of William Eddy. William Eddye, A. M., vicar of the Church of St. Dunstan in the town of Cranbrook, County of Kent, England, is the English ancestor of the Eddy family here treated. He was a native of Bristol, educated in Trinity College, Cambridge, England, and was vicar of Cranbrook from 1589 to 1616. He married (first) Nov. 20, 1587, Mary Fosten, who died in July, 1611, and he married (second), in 1614, Elizabeth Taylor, a widow. He died Nov. 23, 1616.
