In 1987, in celebration of its centennial, the Archer community enlisted Helen Boelts as the chief editor to compile a centennial book in honor of 100 years of history. In this manuscript the writers and editor labor to tell the story of Archer, from its founding by Mr. C. D. Chapman to its establishment and progress in 1987. Of particular importance to genealogists is the large section on the families of Archer Nebraska.
Charles J. Sinsel, a wholesale fruit dealer of Boise and ex-county treasurer of Ada County, was born in Grafton, West Virginia, July 13, 1867, and is descended from Holland ancestry. Three brothers of the Sinsel family came from the little Dutch kingdom to America to aid Great Britain in her subjugation of the colonies, but were so well pleased with the land that they resolved to make their home in the new republic and located in Virginia.
