Biographical Sketch of Dwight Leonard Sanderson
Dwight Leonard Sanderson, born on May 21, 1822, in Chesterfield, N.H., married and settled on his grandfather’s homestead. He farmed and engaged in livestock and merchandise before relocating to Winhall, Vt., in 1857 for five years. In 1862, he moved to Hinsdale, where he continued his farming, livestock dealing, and merchant activities. Of his five sons, only two remained in town: Elliot, a successful farmer, and Nathaniel, who lived and died in Providence, R.I. The remaining sons had varied paths, with one passing away young.
