Private, Inf., Co. A, 2nd Regt., N.C., Inf.; of Nash County; son of Alec C. Nichols and Mrs. Mildred G. Nichols. Entered service May 16, 1916, at Rocky Mount, N.C. Sent to Camp Glenn, N.C. Transferred to Camp Stewart, Texas, then to Camp Wadsworth, S. C., to Camp Sevier. Sailed for Brest, France, April 1, 1918. Served on Mexican border. Transferred to 19th Engrs. March 1, 1918. Arrived in USA from Brest, France, March 1, 1919, at Hoboken, N. J. Went through to Camp Merritt. Mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., March 14, 1919.
