The Cattaraugus Reservation, in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, and Erie Counties, New York, as delineated on the map, occupies both sides of Cattaraugus creek. It is 9.5 miles long on a direct east and west line, averages 3 miles in width at the center, dropping at is eastern line an additional rectangle of 2 by 3 miles. A 6-mile strip on the north and 2 “mile blocks” at diagonal corners are occupied by white people, and litigation is pending as to their rights and responsibilities. Henry Miller, an honored pioneer of Wallowa county, died at his home in Turlock, California, Sunday morning aged 73 years. No particulars of his death has been received. Mr. Miller was born in Virginia and cmae to Oregon 30 years ago. He was active in the upbuilding of this county and no man was mre highly respected. He served two terms as county treasurer. William Henry Miller was born in Racine, on the 2d of November, 1847. and is a son of Moses and Frances Augusta (Durand) Miller, natives of New Jersey and Connecticut, respectively. The father arrived in Wisconsin about 1844 and was a wholesale merchant of Racine for a number of years prior to the building of railroads to this city. His goods were distributed by four-horse peddling wagons to stores all over the southern part of the state. Later in life he engaged in the insurance business. Genealogy of Elizabeth Caroline Seymour Brown

Over a period of many years Mrs. Elizabeth Caroline Seymour Brown, early member of Linares Chapter, D.A.R., collected genealogy of her forebears. It was her wish that her work be sent to the library of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution. This collection was painstakingly copied, with some additions and corrections, maintaining the same general form as used in the original notes. Elizabeth’s family originated in England moving to New England in the 1600’s. Her family lines involve many of the early lines in Connecticut, Massachusets, and New Hampshire. The families are arranged mostly in alphabetical order, and contain information from a simple direct line descendancy, to more elaborate genealogy.

Biographical Sketch of Mrs. James Miller

(See Ward)-Mary, daughter of Robert and Martha Alice (Holland) Early, was born in 1889 at Stilwell. Educated in the Cherokee public schools, Female Seminary and Hill’s Business College, Oklahoma City, graduating from the latter institution. Married at Joplin, Missouri in 1912 James, son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Miller. She taught in the public schools for ten years prior to her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Miller are members of the Baptist church. He is a farmer, near Foyil and she is a member of the Ladies Home Demonstration Club.
