Ridge Cemetery is off County Road 43 in Waterloo, Indiana. This book is one of an ongoing series of free cemetery books placing genealogies with cemetery monuments. The cemetery survey was conducted before 2009 as the book was compiled then. Some of the family pages detail several generations of genealogy for those buried in the cemetery.

Between 1812 and 1836, the Texas Cherokee Nation faced significant challenges as they settled in Texas after migrating from Arkansas. Captain A.J. Millard, undertaker, corner 9th and Douglas streets, was born in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; came west in 1856, and in November of that year located in Sioux City, where he engaged in building operations under the firm name of McDougall & Millard, and continued in the business twenty-two years.
