Gorbett, Verla Maxine – Obituary

Promise, Wallowa County, Oregon Verla Maxine Gorbett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester E. Gorbett of Promise died yesterday morning, March 10, 1937, at the Wallowa hospital. She was taken there suffering from a ruptured appendix and was operated on. She was born in Promise June 21, 1929. Surviving are her parents and two brothers and three sisters. Chester E. Gorbett Dies at Hermiston. Chester Everett Gorbett, of Hermiston, formerly of Promise, passed away at his home July 12 at the age of 86 years and 9 months. He was born at Colton, Ore. Oct. 13, 1877, one of seven children born to Joshau and Orintha Gorbett. He spent his entire life in Oregon. He was united in marriage to Bessie Phillips April 2, 1905.
