Brown, Marjorie “Sue” Blankenship Mrs. – Obituary

Marjorie “Sue” Brown, 81, a former Baker City resident, died Feb. 23, 2006, at Las Vegas, Nev., after a short illness.

Her graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Union Cemetery

Marjorie, Sue to her friends and family, was born on July 26, 1924, at Baker City to Elmer and Claretta Blankenship. She was married three times, to William Gardner, Edward Moeller and Darrell Brown.

She lived at Baker City for many years, where she owned and operated 10th Street Market. After selling the store she moved to Pendleton and worked for the local cable company.

After leaving there she moved to Astoria where she and her husband, Darrell, owned Miles Grocery. She and Darrell retired after selling the store. They moved to Union and later to La Grande to be closer to her son. They lived there until moving to Las Vegas to live with her daughter.

She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her brother, Darrell Perry, and his wife, Pat, of The Dalles; her sons and daughter, Frank C. Gardner of Burns, Michael E. Moeller and his wife, Joleen, of La Grande, and Teresa M. Schalk and her husband, David, of Las Vegas; her stepchildren, Ramona Aamold and her husband, Jeff, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Harry Brown and his wife, Solidad, of Radium Springs, N.M.; her grandchildren, Ken Stultz Jr. and Robert Stultz Sr. of Las Vegas, Vicki O’Brien of Astoria, Lori Kotter of Portland, Joseph Moeller of Boise and Angela and Robert Brown of Radium Springs, N.M.; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Louise Hixson and Norma Davis; her brothers, Harold and Frank Blankenship; and her husband, Darrell.

Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel of La Grande is in charge of arrangements.
