Samuel David Mooring

Private 1st Class, 321st Inf., Co. M, 81st Div. Born in Lenoir County; the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Mooring. Entered the service in June, 1916, at LaGrange, N.C. Was sent to Camp Greene, from there to Camp Sevier, S. C., and from there to Camp Royster. Sailed for France Aug. 11, 1918. Fought at Meuse-Argonne and St. Die. Returned to the USA June 20, 1919, and mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., June 27, 1919. Served with 30th Div. on the Mexican border for 12 months, Co. I, 119th Inf., and was transferred to the 81st Div. on account of sickness.
