Was sent to Clemson College and from there to Ft. Caswell. Sailed for Brest, France, Nov. 2, 1918. Promoted to rank of Corpl. Sept. 20, 1918, and to rank of Btn. Sup. Sergt. Oct. 28, 1918. Returned to the USA and was mustered out at Fortress Monroe Jan. 19, 1919.
