R.; born, New York State, July 24, 1856; son of Eben and Rhobe (Tower) Moon; common school education; married, Dunkirk, New York, Oct. 5, 1881, Helen E. Brownell; issue, two sons, Eben D. and Cary B.; began railroad work as a telegraph operator, and advanced to train dispatcher, train master, division supt., asst. gen. supt., gen. supt., asst. gen. mgr. and gen. mgr., always with the New York Central lines; director T. & O. C., Toledo Terminal, Cleveland Short Line, Lake Erie & Pittsburgh, Lake Erie & Eastern, Zanesville & Western Rys.; member Chamber of Commerce; member Dunkirk, N. Y., Lodge, F. & A. M., Watertown, N. Y., Commandery, K. T.; member Union, Country, and New York Railway Clubs.
