Peleg Weld

PELEG6 WELD (Moses5, John4, Joseph3, John2, Joseph1,) b. July 7, 1780, in Sturbridge, Mass., youngest son of Moses and Deborah (Faulkner) Weld; m. April 27, 1808, Patty Foster, dau. of Israel and Susanna (Bruce) Foster, b. April 10, 1791; and d. Dec. 21, 1834. They came to Cornish about 1814, where they spent the rest of their lives. He d. Aug. 30, 1853. Their first three children were b. in Dummerston, Vt., the rest in Cornish:

1. i. SUSANNA, b. Jan. 26, 1809; d. April 16, 1814.
2. JOHN, b. Oct. 2, 1811.
3. LUCY, b. May 30, 1813; d. March 25, 1841.
4. SUSANNA B., b. March 15, 1815; d. Sept. 15, 1836.
5. KATHARINE F., b. Sept. 30, 1816; m. Geo. Bugbee of Bridgewater, Vt.
6. WILLIAM PITT, b. May 24, 1818; m. -, Mary Jones of N.Y. Lived several years in town and kept the hotel near Windsor bridge and afterwards rem. to Claremont, where he d. July 19, 1889. She d. Feb. 14, 1894. They had two daughters both b. in Claremont. (By request their records are withheld.)
7. PAMELIA, b. Jan. 12, 1820; d. Nov. 19, 1842.
8. ISRAEL FOSTER, b. Sept. 2, 1822.
9. CORNELIA A., b. April 15, 1823; m. May 28, 1845, Horace L. Bartlett of Cornish. Two children. (See Bartlett.) D. May 12, 1861.
10. MARTHA W., b. March 27, 1825; m. Oct. 8, 1850, Luke Atwood; res. chiefly in Bridgewater and Barnard, Vt. One child, d. Jan. 14, 1897.
11. NEEDHAM A., b. Dec. 24, 1828; m. -, Sarah Felch; res. a while in Cornish and then in Piermont, N. H., where he d. Jan. 30, 1860.
12. SARAH L., b. May 16,1834; and d. Feb. 7, 1835.
