La Grande, Oregon Gerald Sylvester Chrusoskie, 80, of La Grande, died Dec. 3 at a local care facility. A celebration of life is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Burial will follow at the Island City Cemetery. Mr. Chrusoskie was born April 2, 1926, to Barnaby and Vivian Laidlaw Chrusoskie in La Grande. Dowling was a hard drinker and had been at Hot Lake for a few days sobering up, and on the evening of the accident had started to walk to La Grande.
