James Anderson, a resident of North Powder, Oregon for 30 years, passed away on January 4, 1928, following a long illness that began on Christmas Day. Born in Hancock County, Indiana on September 6, 1863, he moved west 40 years ago. He is survived by his wife and four daughters: Nellie Lowe, Mary Crawford, Nola Miller, and Mildred McConnell. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church, with interment in North Powder cemetery, overseen by the Odd Fellows lodge.

Z. Robertson, a farmer and mechanic from Mattoon, was born in Bourbon County, Kentucky, in 1830. Robertson purchased and improved several farms, achieving notable success, including a harvest of seventy-five bushels per acre. He married Rebecca J. Morrison in 1855 and had three surviving children, with one daughter, Fannie, having passed away in 1863.
