Mrs. T.C. Huff of Haines Dies
Husband, 3 Daughters Survive; Resident of County 28 Years
Mrs. T.C. Huff of Haines, Resident of Baker County for many years, died unexpectedly at her home Sunday morning. She had been seriously ill only a few hours.
Laura K. Hoar was born April 1, 1874 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania and moved to Iowa with her family when she was six years old. She was married to T. C. Huff at Red Oak, Iowa in 1895 and came to Baker in 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Huff moved to Haines in 1929.
Mrs. Huff joined the Methodist Episcopal Church when she was a girl and was active in the church for many years. She affiliated with the order of Eastern Star in Red Oak when she was 18 years old, but was a member of the Baker chapter at the time of her death.
The deceased is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Lee of Haines, Mrs. F. R. Shedd of Oakland, California and Miss Elizabeth huff of Olympia, Washington; two grandchildren, Lois and Robert Lee of Haines, and a sister, Mrs. E. W. Carpenter of Villesca, Iowa. The daughters arrived in Haines today and Mrs. Carpenter is expected there Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Josie Bach of North Powder officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
