Old Ebenezer Church, Effingham County GA – 1770 Burials

Christian Geiger died Jan. 25, 1770 in the 14 year of his age, and was buried Jan. 26 in the cemetery at Zion.

Gideon Kosch, a negro child, died Febr. 19, 1770, and was buried in the afternoon of the same day in the cemetery here.

George Fischer, 5 years old, died Febr. 20, 1770, and was buried on the 21st in the cemetery at Bethany.

Magdalene Keiter died April 4, 1770 in the 52 year of her age, and was buried in the cemetery at Zions Church.

Johanne, the child of Ulrich Neidlinger, 3 weeks old, died May 14, 1770, and was buried the next day in the cemetery in Ebenezer.

Christian Bittenbach died May 5, 1770 in the 60 year of his age, and received Christian burial the next day in the cemetery at Bethany. The funeral text was Matt. 6:19-21.

Anna Fezer, 2 years old, died May 23, 1770, and was buried on Ascension Day.

Christiana, the daughter of Nicholas Schubdrein, died May 29, 1770 in the 6 month of her age, and was buried the next day at Zion.

Sebastian Fezer, an aged man, died July 4, 1770, and was buried in the cemetery at Zion.

George Rens died July 27, 1770, and was buried July 28 in the cemetery at Ebenezer.

John Frederick Ernest Kienegus, a native of Breusland, died Aug. 5, 1770, being the 8 Sunday after Trinity, and was buried on the afternoon of the same day in the cemetery at Ebenezer.

Salome Zant, a child of 2 years, died Aug. 30, 1770, and was buried the same day in the cemetery just named.

Hannah Rentz, the widow of the Rentz just noted above, died Aug. 20, 1770, and was buried on the 21st.

Anna Margaret Biddenbach was taken in mercy out of this vale of tears into heaven Aug. 31, 1770, and received Christian burial at Bethany Sept. 1.

Elizabeth Heinle, a child 9 months old, died in the night before Sept. 24, 1770, and was buried on the 24th.

Christopher August Gottlob Triebner, a child of 8 days, died Aug. 16, 1770, and on the next day was buried here in the cemetery in the burial place of the ministers. A babe is more before God’s throne than a grown spoiled son.

John Peter Arnsdorff, a year old, died Oct. 13, 1770, and. was buried the next day here in the cemetery.

John Floerl, 60 years old, died Oct. 19, 1770, and received Christian burial on the following Sunday with a funeral sermon here in the cemetery.

Mary Catharine Meyer died Oct. 23, 1770, and received Christian burial on the next day. Her age is 5o years and one month. Funeral text: Job 19, v.

George Heid died Oct. 28, 1770, and was buried the next day.

Mary Dorothy Greiner died Nov. 4, and was buried the next day.

Sophia Frank died Nov. 5, and was buried the next day.

John Kornberger died Nov. 12, 1770, and was buried the next day.

John George Deininger, 58 years old, died Nov. 14 in the evening, ,and was buried on the 15th.

Sophia Frank, 14 years old, died Nov. 21, 1770, and received Christian burial the next day at Bethany.

Mary, infant daughter of John Deininger, died Nov. 23, 1770, and was buried the next day.

Barbara Habor, wife of Michael Habor, died Nov. 22, 1770, and was buried on the same day. Her age was 70 years.
