La Grande, Union County, Oregon Mary Lucille Chapman died unexpectedly Saturday evening following a heart attack. She was at the Masonic temple when stricken and died en route to the hospital. Mrs. Chapman, who had resigned her position at the Bohnenenkamp store, was in charge of the Gerard Jewelry store during the absence of Mr. and Mrs. Gerard. Elgin, Union County, Oregon Leonard Carroll, a young man aged 23 years, was instantly killed at a point about three miles east of Hot Lake Monday afternoon by the current from a live electric wire. The Grande Ronde Electric Co’s. wire’s were down and young Carroll was showing some friends where the wire was, and placed his hand on a board near the wire.
