1851 Upton Canada Directory

A Small Village situated in the Township of Upton, County of Drummond, C. E. distant from Montreal, 43 miles from St. Hyacinthe, 13 miles, there is a station of the St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad here, and there are a grist mill and a saw mill here, owned by L. T. Drummond, Esq., of Montreal.
