Morgan, Kathryn Annabelle Winegar Mrs. – Obituary

Kathryn Annabelle Morgan, 55, of Baker City, died Aug. 20, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.

There will be a celebration of Annabelle’s life and memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Baker City Church of the Nazarene, 1250 Hughes Lane. Pastor Jon Privett will officiate. Friends are invited to join the family for a dinner at the church after the service.

There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday in Prairie City.

Annabelle was born on Nov. 9, 1952, at Prairie City to William Franklin and Mary Alta Till Winegar. She was educated at Prairie City and was very involved in all school activities.

She enjoyed playing sports, especially volleyball while attending Prairie City High School. Annabelle also served as a princess on the rodeo court. She was a 1970 Prairie City High School graduate.

Annabelle met Floyd Morgan at Baker City. They were married at the Baker City Church of the Nazarene on March 28, 1987. Floyd and Annabelle made their home in Baker City where they raised their children, Rollie, Nellie, Luke, and Kerbie.

Annabelle’s joy and passion for life has always been a blessing to her family and friends, family members said. She took great pleasure in creating things of beauty, as could be seen in the beautiful wedding cakes she baked and decorated, her flower arrangements, quilting, and a yard with flower beds that were the envy of her neighbors and family. She liked working side by side with Floyd on their ranch; working cattle, haying and doing all of the chores entailed in ranch life.

She loved being a grandmother and sharing with her grandchildren. They especially brought joy to her life during the difficult times.

Annabelle worked at Safeway, Baker City Floral, and with the 5J school lunch program.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd; children, Rollie and Annie Stanbro, Nellie and Bryan Dalke, Luke and Amanda Morgan, and Kerbie Morgan; grandchildren, Maggie Stanbro, Kaylee, Kaiden and Kale Dalke and Gretchen and Ethan Morgan, all of Baker City; her mother, Mary Winegar; sisters, Jane Winegar and Virginia “Ginner” Watterson; brothers, Fred, Rod, George and Grant Winegar all of Grant County and Hank of Tempe, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Franklin Winegar; and her sister, Anita Scull.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart ‘n’ Home Hospice, the Jaycee Dunn Memorial or the charity of one’s choice through Tami’s Pine Valley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 543, Halfway, OR 97834.
