Kent, Minnie Loney – Obituary

Mrs. Guy W. (Minnie) Kent, 56, of Rt. 2, died Thursday [May 28, 1953] at a local hospital. She was a member of the Loney family, one of the Walla Walla’s best-known early day families.

Born July 13, 1896 at Walla Walla, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Loney, who came to the Walla Walla Valley in 1882 and farmed here for many years. Mrs. Kent was graduated from Wa-Hi, and on Dec. 12, 1917 married Guy W. Kent here.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Bernard T. (Marjorie) Moro and Mrs. Harold (Eleanor) Gorham of Walla Walla; one sister, Mrs. Vincent Nelson of Walla Walla; eight brothers, Orville Loney, Delbert Loney and Virgil Loney, all of Walla Walla; William Loney of Moscow, Ida.; Elwin Loney of Midvale, Ida.; Herbert Loney of Touchet; Samuel Loney of Des Moines, Ia.; and Albert Loney of Connell, Wash. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Kent was a member of Narcissa Rebekah Lodge No. 2, I.O.O.F., the Sudbury Farm Bureau, Sudbury Home Economic Club and the Eureka Grange.

Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Monday at a local chapel. [Interment Mountain View Cemetery]
