Barbara Aschim Sheepskin, 60, Seattle, Wash., died unexpectedly of a heart attack June 12, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Roseanne Carlson, in Tacoma, Wash. Cremation was done at Edwards Memorial Center in University Place, Wash. An informal gathering of remembrance will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, 1 p.m. at the Aschim ranch near Unity, 31011 Hwy 26, Unity, Ore. All who would like to remember her are welcome. Clarissa Sherwood, 94, of Roseburg, a former Halfway resident, died July 11, 2007, at Bend. Her funeral was today at Chapel of the Roses. The Rev. Marlene Irwin Blank passed away on May 25, 2007. Marlene was the daughter of Ira “Mike” and Zelma Irwin. She was born April 4, 1934 in Halfway, Ore. Marlene married Alton “Bud” Blank of Richland, on June 7, 1952. They moved to Portland, where they raised four daughters, Kathy, Penny, Dianna and Debra. Alton died in 2003. Marlene had three sisters, Sherril Smit, Irene Ralls, and Bonnie Lindstrom.
