North Powder, Union County, Oregon Little Leona McPhee Passed This Life Wednesday Night The death of little Leona McPhee, aged 10, occurred at the Baker hospital between nine and ten o’clock Wednesday night, following an illness of about two weeks. The direct cause of death is attributed to appendicitis and peritonitis following the operation. Leona was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McPhee, Jr., and a pupil in the North Powder schools. Ardyth Hope McPhee, 79, lovingly known as “Hope” to family and friends, died Aug. 11, 2009, at her daughter’s home in Elko, Nev. There will be a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 777 Sage St., in Elko. Visitations will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Burns Funeral Home in Elko. McPhee, J. D. – Obituary

Mrs. J.D. McPhee has received a letter stating that her brother, William Tanner, died at his home at Logan, Utah, April 5. The widow and 12 children are the immediate surviving relation. Mr. Tanner was a former resident of the North Powder community. North Powder News Saturday, April 16, 1927
