Biographical Sketch of Gustave Fredeman Klube

Gustave Fredeman Klube, born August 11, 1815, in Oldeshaven, Germany, married Maria Ernstina Voight on June 11, 1845. They immigrated to the U.S. in 1850 and initially settled in Syracuse before moving to Geneva, where Klube established a successful harness-making business. Known for his skill acquired through rigorous training in Germany, he was frugal and industrious, raising a large family and ensuring their education. Their son, Gustave Henry August, enlisted in the Civil War at a young age and was killed in battle at Cold Harbor.

Biographical Sketch of Henry John Lewis Klube

Henry John Lewis Klube, born on July 10, 1859, in Geneva, was the youngest child of Gustave F. and Maria E. Klube. After completing his education, he entered the saddlery business in 1877, successfully running his own enterprise for over thirty years until his death on May 7, 1908. A proactive community member, he contributed to public improvements and was a charter member of the Folger Hook and Ladder Company. Klube married Carrie Isabell Buffington in 1894 and had three children. He was a Republican and a member of St. Peters Church.
