This volume is “Abstractions from Huron County Ohio, Will Book A.” These will abstractions cover the years from 1828 to 1852. They have been taken out of order as they appeared in the original volume and sorted by name. This abstraction was done by Henry Timman of Norwalk, Ohio, in 1960.

Hiram Charlton took on the publication of the Genealogical and Family History of the State of Vermont for Lewis Publishing. In it, he enlisted the assistance of living residents of the state in providing biographical and genealogical details about their family, and then he published all 1104 family histories in two distinct volumes.
During the anniversary meeting of the Seneca County Medical Society on July 23, 1885, a resolution was passed to compile biographical sketches of its members, aiming to document their history from the county’s early days. A committee was appointed to gather information, relying on communication with current and former members. Despite challenges such as lost records and limited responses, the committee managed to collect enough material to warrant publication, hoping future historians will continue the work. The resulting manuscript includes 75 biographies and an alphabetical list of names.
Russel T. Bristol, born in 1822 in Panton, Vermont, married Martha Jane Thompson in 1847, with whom he had seven children. He was the son of Noah and Anna Stafford Bristol, whose lineage traces back to early settlers in Panton. Noah Bristol, born in 1789, passed away in 1838, and was part of a large family. The Bristol family has roots in Connecticut, with notable ancestors like Aaron Bristol, who settled in Panton in 1785 and participated in the War of 1812.
Amos Samuel Bristol, born September 17, 1825, in Ernesttown, is a descendant of a family that settled in Rhode Island over two centuries ago. He received his education at McGill College and subsequently practiced medicine in Bath and Hastings before establishing a successful practice in Napanee. A surgeon in the 4th Regiment of Provincial Cavalry, Bristol was also active in education and church affairs. He married twice, first to Sarah Minerva and later to Amelia Marie, and has eight children. His contributions to the medical field and community are notable.
On June 13, 1866, Croydon, NH, marked its centennial with a memorable celebration. The day began with the booming of cannons and pealing bells, stirring cherished memories among the townsfolk. Augusta Cooper Bristol, born on April 17, 1835, to Col. Otis and Hannah Powers Cooper, was known for her intellect and passion for music and literature. She successfully taught school from ages sixteen to twenty-one and began contributing poetry and prose to prominent journals at fifteen. After her marriage to Gustavus F. Kimball in 1857 and subsequent divorce, she married Louis Bristol in 1866 and moved to Carbondale, Illinois, where she balances domestic life with her literary pursuits.
