The death of Mrs. John Yankey at St. Elizabeth hospital Thursday followed an accident June 15 when the 63-year-old Haines woman slipped and fell into Rock Creek while fishing. Living near the banks of the swift mountain stream. Mrs. Yankey had fished there for years.
Hattie C. Hearing was born near Haines, November 29, 1881. She was married to John Yankey September 8, 1906 and they have made their home in the Rock Creek district since that time.
The deceased is survived by her widower; two sons, Jack of Portland and Keith of Baker; three daughters, Mrs. Mona Aldrich of Haines, Mrs. Neva Engle of Baker and Mrs. Nena Miller of Portland; three brothers, one sister and four grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday in Baker with burial in the Haines cemetery.
