The death of Mrs. John Yankey at St. Elizabeth hospital Thursday followed an accident June 15 when the 63-year-old Haines woman slipped and fell into Rock Creek while fishing. Living near the banks of the swift mountain stream. Mrs. Yankey had fished there for years. Hattie C. Hearing was born near Haines, November 29, 1881. She was married to John Yankey September 8, 1906 and they have made their home in the Rock Creek district since that time. Jack Yankey, Passes at Age 57 Haines Area Man Spent Entire Life in Area Graveside services for Jack Albert Yankey, age 57, were conducted Saturday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Haines Cemetery under the direction of the Langrell Mortuary. John W. Yankey Was Haines Pioneer John Willis Yankey, 73, a resident of Haines, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Mr. Yankey was born June 29, 1885, in Salem, Dent County, Mo. He was the son of William R. and Mary E. Yankey. When he was three years of age the family moved to Oregon, settling near Haines. Mr. Yankey had been a farmer all his life.
