Scotton, Kelly Rae – Obituary

Kelly Rae Scotton, 41, a former Baker City resident, died Dec. 16, 2006, at her home in Morton, Wash.

Kelly was born Dec. 30, 1964 at Longview, Wash., and lived in Baker City for a time where she worked and cared for the elderly.

Kelly was loved by all who crossed her path. She loved to read and play Nintendo. She was a beautiful singer, and sang at special occasions for family and friends.

She also spent time interpreting Spanish for those who spoke no English.

Kelly cherished her pug Kiwi, loved and cared for her nieces, Christia and Carolann, and enjoyed time with her nephew, Robert. She was a mother and grandmother to two granddaughters, Heather, 7, and Courtney, 5.
She was loved very much by her only daughter, Jonnie Rae.

Kelly’s favorite food was the potato — fried, hashed, mashed, boiled, baked or french fried.
She loved her perfumes and makeup. Kelly was young-at-heart and through her failing health wanted to stay with her parents, Grover and Carey Scotton, to care for their health and needs. She did this to her last day.
The family said, “The chain may be broken but it shall link again one day.”

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Douglas Hogue.

Survivors include many, many loved ones: her parents, Grover and Carey Scotton of Morton, Wash.; daughter, Jonnie Rae Aker and her husband, Frank of Centralia, Wash.; granddaughters daughters Heather and Courtney of Centralia; brother, Kenneth Scotton and his wife, Sandy of Centralia; nephew Robert Scotton of Chehalis, Wash.; sister Kathy Knox and her husband Curt of Haines; nieces, Christia Scotton and family of Baker City and Carolann and Josh Brown of Rupert, Idaho; great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
