Baker City, Oregon

Reuben A. Huddleston, 85, was born in Vernon County, Mo., Feb 7?, 1875?, and passed away at his home, 2315 Second St., September 20.

He went to Alaska from Oklahoma during the gold rush days and came to Oregon in 1899. He settled in the Burnt River Country in 1913 where he owned a farm until he retired in 1940. He moved to Union where he resided until coming to Baker three years ago.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Alpha Danford with whom he made his home for many years. One sister and four brothers preceded him in death. Also surviving is a half sister, Mrs. Emma Tate, and a half brother, Joseph Huddleston, both of Springfield, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Huddleston were conducted Thursday (today) at West and Company Funeral home. Joe Jewett of the Christian church officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery.
