Julia B. Hobbs, 82, a resident of Gresham, OR., and former resident of Baker City died Saturday, March 16 at Kaiser Hosp. in Portland, Oregon.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday March 25 at the Haines Cemetery, pastor Dennis Schmidt of the First Lutheran Church of Baker City will officiate. Friends may call for visitation on Sunday, March 24 from 1:00 until 4:00 pm at Grays West and Co. Pioneer Chapel.
Julia was the daughter of Henry and Nina Jackson Dahl. She received her education and graduated from Muddy Creek High School near Haines in 1926. After graduation she attended E. OR. College. She returned to Baker City working as a manager for Rosanna Dress Shop, also working for Newberger and Heilner and C.C. Anderson Co. in Retail Sales.
Mrs. Hobbs, after her college taught back in the Muddy Creek School at the elementary grade level.
While resident of the home community she was for some time the correspondent for the Record-Courier.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; H. Raymond and Martha Hobbs of Gladstone, OR.; granddaughter; Cherylyn M. Wilson of Gresham; Great grandchildren; Jason M. and Kimberly D. Wilson of Gresham. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a granddaughter.
