Fox, Morris – Obituary

Death Of Morris Fox

Dies at an Advanced Age After a Gradual Decline.

In this city at the family residence at about 1:30 o’clock yesterday morning, the death of Mr. Morris Fox occurred after a gradual decline in health covering a period of several months.

The deceased was born in Germany in January, 1921. Came to the Pacific Coast in the year 1963 and for many years resided in Portland. In 1885, accompanied by his wife and family, Mr. Fox came to Baker City and has ever since resided here. Besides his aged helpmeet who survives him, are six children, Mrs. I. Block of Boise; Mrs. Thos. McEwen, of McEwen, and Mrs. M. Fuchs of this city; Mr. Aaron Fox of Troutdale; Sam Fox of Portland, and Mannie Fox, of this city.

The remains of Mr. Fox were accompanied to Portland last evening by Mrs. Fox, his wife, Mrs. I. Bloch, a daughter, and son Mannie, where they will be interred today.

A large number of our citizens attested their respect to the memory of the deceased at the home and accompanied the remains to the depot.

As evidence of the high esteem in which the deceased was held the business houses of the city were closed from 1:30 to 3:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon.
