Funeral services for Lester B. (Bloom) Emmons, of 1706 K. Ave., La Grande, who died in a La Grande Hospital on Saturday, Jan. 21, 1967 will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Bollman chapel in Enterprise, with the Rev. Wendel Sullivan, pastor of the La Grande Baptist church officiating. Interment will be in the Enterprise cemetery.
Emmons, a retired farmer, was born April 19, 1897 at Enterprise, son of Leonard and Ivy Emmons, and had lived near Enterprise for 45 years. For the past five years he and his wife had lived in La Grande. On June 3, 1917 he was married on Alder slope to Eva Neal, who survives him. He had been in failing health for eight months, and a hospital patient for seven weeks.
Other survivors include two sons, Ed, of Enterprise, and Bill of La Grande; one brother, Milford of Seattle; three sisters, Mrs. Macel Reece of La Grande; Mrs. Vivian Hovis of Joseph, and Mrs. Mildred Santose of Union; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
