Marvin B. Dean; 85, 2365 Fourth St., a life-time Baker and Baker County resident, died Thursday, October 1, 1981, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Grays West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. The Rev. Gerald C. Nelson of United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Baker veterans will fold the flag.
Mr. dean was born on March 7, 1896, in Baker to Matthew and Stella Emile Dean. He attended schools in Baker and Keating. He grew up on the family ranch in Keating. He worked for the Pondosa Lumber Co. for many years.
He married his wife, Alice, in Weiser, Idaho, on Nov. 17,1950. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Missouri Flat Grange.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, of Baker, a son, Dallas of Baker’ two stepsons, Everett DeBord of Pendleton and Robert Debord of Lincoln, Mont.; one stepdaughter, Elva Lloyd of Baker; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Friends may call at the chapel until service time Tuesday. The casket will be closed at the service.
