Senter, Frederick Baldwin; mnfr. of lubricating oils; born, Bedford, O., April 6, 1864; son of John and Jane Boyle Senter; educated, common and high school and Spencerian Business College; married, Middlefield, O., Dec. 25, 1889, Kate Donaldson, one daughter, Margaret, and one son, Talmadge; took active part in Bedford civic improvements; promoted establishment of public water works, and sewerage system after graduation started in oil business and continued in same until he established the Franklin Oil & Gas Co., of Bedford and Cleveland; capitalized at $200,000; most modern plant for producing highgrade cylinder oil, engine oil and boiler compounds; organized The Bedford Supply Co., general merchandise; Bedford Board of Trade, raising membership from 6 to 125; pres. and gen. mgr. The Franklin Oil & Gas Co.; his father came to Northfield township, in Summit county, from Londonderry, Ireland, in 1840, and took up a section of land still owned by the family; trustee Bedford Baptist Church; member Bedford Board of Trade, Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, Automobile Club, Golden Rod Lodge, Knights of Pythias, Bedford.
