Carroll, Frank P.; coal business; born, Cleveland, March 2, 1874; educated in the public and parochial schools of Cleveland; at the age of 18, learned machinists’ trade; worked in the Lake Shore shops until May, 1899; then became engaged in the coal business, and has been successful in building up a good trade; his grandfather, the late Peter Goldrick, was one of the pioneer coal merchants of Cleveland; his name is engraved in the City Hall as one of the Centennial Council, 1876, having been elected the representative of the old fifth ward in the spring of 1875.
