Sergt., Ordnance Dept., Hdqrs. Co. Born in Halifax County; the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Shearon. Entered the service April 25, 1918, at Weldon, N.C. Was sent to Camp Jackson, S. C., and from there to Camp Hancock, Ga. Transferred to Curtis Bay, Ord. Dept., Baltimore. Promoted to rank of Corpl. Aug. 1, 1918, and to rank of Sergt. Sept. 1, 1918. Mustered out at Curtis Bay March 23, 1919.
