Russell, Clarence R. – Obituary
Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Clarence R. Russell died at his home on Alder Slope Jan. 31, 1988. He was born Aug. 28, 1898 near Cordell, Okla., son of William John and Bertha Mae Russell. On Sept. 5, 1925 he was married to Marion C. Lundberg at Spokane Wash. Russell and Marion moved to Wallowa County in 1943 and bought the Mary Lay place on Alder Slope where they have lived since. Survivors include his wife, Marion C.; one daughter, Dian R. Mawby; four sisters and one brother. The family requests no food or flowers. At his request he was cremated. … Read more

Hon. J. J. Smith, an able representative of the Miami bar, who has here practiced his profession since 1915, is specializing in criminal law, in which branch of jurisprudence he has been very successful, and he has also done effective service for the public good as a member of the state senate.
