Wallowa County, Oregon Services Held For Casey Jones Leonard Charles (Casey) Jones, a resident at Wallowa County Nursing Home for some time, passed away at Wallowa memorial Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 20, 1970. He had been in failing health for the past four years. He was born in North Dakota on April 19, 1895, and had lived in Wallowa County for many years. He was a retired sheepherder. William Roberts “Bob” Patterson, 67, a former Baker City resident, died Feb. 12, 2008, at the Veterans Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash., from complications of cancer. Bob was born on Feb. 16, 1940, at Baker City to Franklin W. “Bill” and Elizabeth Patterson. Bob Swisher of Enterprise died Aug. 9, 2006, at his home of natural causes. He was 85. Mr. Swisher was born Sept. 6, 1920, in Paradise to William Harry Swisher and Martha Ann Gordon Swisher. He was inducted into the U.S. Navy on May 8, 1942. He served with the 9th Construction Battalion with a rank of First Class Mech. Mate during World War II.
