Paradise, Oregon Grandpa Sturm passed away Sunday Sept. 25, 1921, after a serious illness of several days, while for months he has been in the very poorest of health. He was one of the old pioneer settlers of the north end, being 88 years old. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, four sons, Chas., Henry and Orlando Sturm, who live in Paradise, a daughter, Mrs. Lake Osbourne of Alberta, and several grandchildren besides a host of friends, who extend the sorrowing relatives their sympathy in their bereavement. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon W. W. Fowler’s Father Passes Away Suddenly J.J. Fowler, father of W.W. Fowler of Enterprise, died suddenly of heart disease last week in his room in a Spokane hotel. W.W. Fowler was greatly shocked to hear the news on Friday and left at once for Portland, where his father’s body was taken for burial. The father was here in November, leaving on the tenth. Helen Alford, the daughter of Eugene Albert Houck and Doris Francis Houck, was born on Nov. 5, 1930 in Enterprise. She grew up in the Zumwalt area of Wallowa County. In 1949, she married Glen Emory Alford of Joseph. During their lives together they lived in Wallowa County, Baker City and the Willamette Valley.
