William J. Reece died Tuesday evening, Feb. 11, 1936, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.H. Bonner, at Weiser, Idaho. He had been there only a few days, as his son, Floyd, had taken him there last week from Yakima, Wash., where he had been for some time with another daughter, Mrs. Willard Phillips. Courtney, Lowell Marvin – Obituary

Lostine, Oregon Lowell Marvin Courtney died Aug. 14, 2007, at Alpine House in Joseph of natural causes. He was 92. Mr. Courtney was born April 5, 1915, in Lostine to Edith Pearl Shelts and Harley M. Courtney. On March 30, 1935, he married Gladys M. Bowen in Baker City. The couple lived and worked on the family farm then bought a part of it. Mr. Courtney worked as a farmer, carpenter and mechanic. The farm became a century farm in 1997. In 2001 they sold the farm after 86 years and moved to Enterprise. Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon Warren Beith died at the home of his father in Wallowa, Tuesday evening, Dec. 17th of pneumonia following an attack of the “flu.” He had been sick for several days. A brother who is in the army at Camp Fremont, is on his way home but was too late to see his brother. Funeral services were held Wednesday from the home. Joseph, Oregon Montia Coval Stephens died May 20, 2007, at the Vancouver Veterans Hospice Center, from cancer surgery complications. He was 64. Mr. Stephens was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Cottage Grove. Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon Obit Bert Adams committed suicide sometime Thursday night in the county jail where Sheriff Rinehart had given him lodging for the evening. He walked down from the logging camp the night before and had been at the pool halls and other places during the day and evening. Sheriff Rinehart who had been asked to keep a watchful eye on Adams, told him he might just as well sleep in one of the beds in jail, he finally accepted the invitation.
