N.D. McClung Dies in Oregon
Norris Delano McClung, 28, of Wallowa, Oregon, formerly of Fayetteville (WV) Route 2, died October 7, 1963, due to complications following emergency surgery in the Wallowa Memorial Hospital at Enterprise, Oregon.
Mr. McClung was born in Davin, West Virginia, May 24, 1935.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, October 9 at the Methodist Church in Wallowa, Oregon with the Rev. Darwin Secord officiating. Bollman Funeral Home in charge.
Remains were then sent to Fayetteville (WV) for further funeral and graveside services with Dodd-Payne Funeral Home in charge. Funeral services were held at Dodd-Payne Funeral Chapel Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ralph Parsons officiating followed by burial in the Treadway Cemetery at Beckwith.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Treadway McClung, one son, Bradley David age 4; two daughters, Pamela Sue age 6, Anita Jean, age 7 months; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey McClung of Delbarton (WV); two brothers, James Charleston Heights, S. C. and Warren Lynn at home; two sisters, Miss Joyce McClung of Noales, Arizona and Mrs. Pat Maynard of Elizabeth Town, Kentucky; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. J. H. Runyon of Delbarton (WV).
Note: While a resident of Wallowa, Norris was the manager of the Wallowa Creamery Association. Yes, my father was the milk man.
