Mrs. Thomas Bunnel of Paradise Passes Paradise, Oregon Mrs. Thomas Bunnel of Paradise, passed away at Enterprise Friday, January 2, 1942, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted from the Paradise church Monday by Rev. E.E. Callahan and burial was in the Paradise cemetery. Enterprise, Oregon Eloise Cornwell died on Aug. 2, 2007 at the Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center in La Grande. She was 87. Mrs. Cornwell was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Enterprise to Arthur C. and Nettie L. Beam Haggerty. On July 5, 1938, she married Leonard L. Cornwell. Ruth Ackerman, 41 and five children died Tuesday, November 29, when a fire leveled their log home at Priest River, Idaho. The father, William Ackerman, 48, thought his family was behind him when he rushed to the door but they weren’t. The minute he opened the door the house became an inferno. A sixth child, Randy, 15 was sleeping in a nearby camper vehicle and was not injured.
