Virgil Albert Choate, 94, of La Grande died Sept. 2 at a local care center. Joyce was born on June 4, 1921, to Henry Harry and Hilda (Hall) Brown in Leicester, England. She was raised and educated in England. Margaret Francis Golden, 2201 Orodell Blvd., died Friday at Valley View manor. She was 90. Mrs. Golden was born Oct. 31, 1892, at Summerville to Charles and Mary (Childers) Duggan. On Oct. 31, 1915 she married John Golden at Summerville. He preceded her in death in July 1945. La Grande, Oregon Valley Pioneer Passes On Here Mrs. Ida May See, ill for some time, died yesterday at the Grande Ronde hospital. She was a pioneer of the Grand Ronde valley, coming to Summerville in 1878 when three years of age from the Dakotas. Island City, Union County, Oregon Mrs. Merton W. Kiddle of Island City, died suddenly Monday morning at her home. The funeral was held Wednesday and interment was in the Island City Cemetery. Mrs. Kiddle was formerly Miss Jessie Wade and she was born near Summerville in 1885. Her parents were among the first settlers in Grande Ronde valley. Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Church at Richland. Interment will be at Eagle Valley Cemetery in Richland.
