EDWARD B. MORELOCK. – Mr. Morelock was born in Missouri in 1845. While but a child of two years he suffered the loss of his father, who, as sheriff of Sullivan County, was killed by the owner of property that he was selling under execution. Upon the outbreak of the Rebellion, Edward, a youth of sixteen, joined the Missouri state militia, and in 1863 and enlisted in the Forty-second Missouri Volunteer Infantry, wherein he served until the end of the war. Stella Mae Bay, 84, a long time La Grande resident, died Aug. 24 in Tacoma Wash. Mrs. Bay was born March 24, 1902, in Summerville to Christian and Christina (Justinson) Arnoldus. She was a member of La Grande’s First Christian Church and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Survivors include her sons, Dean of Graham, Wash., and Howard of Hillsboro; sisters, Anne Leach of Live Oak, Calif., and Ellen Sanderson of La Grande; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. THOMAS WADE. – Mr. Wade was born in Virginia in 1837, and is the eldest of the three brothers, mention of whom is made herein. In 1853 he emigrated to Wayne county, Iowa, where he engaged in farming, and so continued until 1862, when he crossed the plains and located in the Grande Ronde valley on his present homestead. LOUIS B. RINEHART. – Mr. Rinehart was born in Illinois in 1844, and ten years later accompanied his parents across the plains to Oregon.
