Tibbet, T. S., Mrs. – Obituary

T. S. Tibbet Imnaha, Oregon Mrs. S.T. Tippet returned Saturday from Asotin, Wash. where she was called by the death of her son’s wife, Mrs. T. S. Tibbet (sic), on May 12th. She brought home with her the youngest of the four children who where left motherless by this sad event. The mother had been failing health for about a year and they had left their home on the Imnaha last fall to spend the winter in Arizona in hopes of benefiting her; but came back to Asotin seven weeks preceding her death. Hammack, Stella May – Obituary

Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Stella May Hammack, 96, of Pendleton, died Jan. 13, 2003. She was born March 08, 1906, in Cold Springs to Augustus and Eliza Thompson Stumbaugh. Mrs. Hammack grew up in the Asotin and Imnaha areas. She and her mother often acted as house sitters for homesteaders along the Snake River and as a teenager she worked as a cook in sheep camps and on cattle ranches. In 1927, she married William Hammack of Enterprise, after which they made their home in Wallowa and later moved to Weston. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Pioneer Mother Services Today Mrs. Mellisa Jane Himelwright, one of the oldest of Wallowa County pioneers and who had been in failing health for the last several months, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 1957 at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Robert Trezona in Enterprise. Holbrook, George – Obituary

Tom Adams, well-known in this county, shot and killed George Holbrook at Homestead on Wednesday of last week. Adams was living with Holbrook’s wife in a tent on a mining claim in the eastern part of the county and went to Homestead with the woman after two children who were in the possession of the father. A fight followed and Adams killed Holbrook. Adams and Mrs. Holbrook are now in jail at Baker. Imnaha, Wallowa County, Oregon Othe Arnold, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Arnold, succumbed to an attack of heart failure yesterday morning, Wednesday, May 6, 1936, at the family home on Sheep creek. She was in the yard when she fell to the ground and passed away almost immediately. A call was sent to Imnaha and Mrs. E.C.
