Jesse Hudson, born on June 27, 1840, in Jessamine County, Kentucky, was a dedicated farmer and Justice of the Peace residing in Morgan Township, Illinois. After moving to Illinois with his family in 1851, he cultivated land alongside his father before venturing into renting and eventually purchasing his own farm in 1868. Hudson’s diligent work and sound management led to the successful expansion of his property. He married Harriet Stark in 1861, with whom he had two daughters, and has actively served his community in various township roles.

Biographical Sketch of F. M. Parker

F. M. Parker was born on March 18, 1849, in Edgar County, Illinois, and is the son of William M. Parker, a Kentucky émigré. He grew up assisting his family in farming before starting his own agricultural pursuits in 1871. Parker married Sarah J. Roberts in 1871, and they had four children. In December 1873, he moved to Morgan Township, where he continued farming and held local offices, including Road Overseer and Collector of Morgan Township.

Biography of Alexander McGregor

Alexander McGregor, born on July 1, 1807, in Perthshire, Scotland, emigrated to America in 1842 and settled in Morgan Township, where he developed a 535-acre farm through hard work. An active member of the Presbyterian Church, he prioritized religion and education throughout his life. He faced significant personal trials, including the loss of two sons in the Civil War, and his wife Margaret passed away in 1876. Despite health challenges from a palsy that confined him to his home, McGregor remains a respected figure in his community, cared for by his son John.
