Cove, Oregon Tina Petersen, 48, of Cove died Sept. 22 at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland of complications of autoimmune inner ear disease and diabetes. The family is holding a gathering of her friends and their companion animals at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Birnie Park in La Grande. Tina was born March 7, 1959, in Park Rapids, Minn., to Jim and Carol Groth. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon George H. Holmes was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1855. In early childhood he crossed the plains with his parents to Bannock City, Montana. Later the family came to Walla Walla and in 1868 they located at Cove, which was his home until early manhood. Cove, Union County, Oregon on Friday of last week the funeral of George Thompson took place from the residence of his brother-in-law, Mr. Thomas Johnson, near Cove, the Rev. Cove, Union County, Oregon Cove Boy Shot Fatal Shotgun Accident at Cove Monday Roger Golay of Cove, aged 4 years, was instantly killed by the accidental discharge of a shot gun early Monday morning. The accident occurred while Roger and his eight-year-old brother Lovo were playing with the gun. The weapon had been placed on a bed in the home while the father, George Golay had gone to the telephone. The charge from the gun entered the head of the child and death resulted instantly.
