Beatrice A. Curteman, 81, of Baker, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Baker.
Her funeral was today at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel, La Grande, with the Rev. James Wenger-Monroe officiating. Interment followed at the Grandview Cemetery, La Grande.
Mrs. Curteman was born July 22, 1906 in Roulette, PA., to Otto and Bessie Touscher Hunter. She was reared in Wallowa County area and attended and graduated from Enterprise High School. From Wallowa County she moved to Island City and then on to Union and Cove, where her family ranched.
She married Carl Curteman in La Grande on Oct. 19, 1929. He died in 1970.
She had lived in Baker with her daughter and son-in-law for the past nine years.
She was a member of the Cove Methodist Church, the Cherry Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Cove Farm Bureau.
She enjoyed making crafts and cards.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Norma Lee and Bill Childers of Baker; stepchildren, Marjorie Curteman of Boise, and William H. Curteman of West Germany; grandchildren, Vicki Fite of Hermiston, and John Childers of Klamath Falls; great-grandchildren, Michelle and Danielle Fite, both of Hermiston and Shawn, Beau and Alicia Childers, all of Grants Pass; and four nieces. A brother and sister died, earlier.
Friends may contribute in her memory to the American Heart Association or to a charity of their choice. That may be done through Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave.
