Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon Services Friday For Mrs. Thompson Mrs. Mabel Glenn Thompson, of Wallowa, passed away at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital on Monday, Sept. 28, 1970 following several months of ill health. Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of Wallowa County pioneers. Thomas and Chati Willet and was born Sept. 12. 1891 on the Willett homestead near Wallowa. On April 16, 1913 she was married at Wallowa to Al Thompson and the couple ranched in Wallowa county until 1938. Then they moved to Union and Baker Counties until 1958 when they retired to Wallowa. Two Baker County Pioneers Are Gone A resident of Baker county for 52 years, Samuel N. Waltz, died last Friday, his death resulting form a second stroke of paralysis, the first stroke occurring about one year ago. Mr. Waltz has been engaged in building and contracting work for many years. He was born in Monroe County, Missouri and came with his brother, Rev. E.P. Waltz, to Baker in 1875. Jack was born on April 1, 1933, at Oakland, Calif., to John Sr. and Constance McMannis Thomson. Jack attended Oakland High School, graduating in 1951.
