Baker City, Oregon

Caroline Rayborn, 85, of Baker City, died July 4, 2001, at her home.

Her graveside funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2625 Hughes Lane.

Mrs. Rayborn was born April 1, 1916, at Albion, Idaho, to Reuben James Jolley and Ezra Tooele Conger. She married Norman Wesley Rayborn on July 13, 1934, at Vancouver, Wash. They were sealed for time and eternity in the LDS Logan Temple on July 13, 1984, and shared 64 years of marriage. They owned and operated Rayborns Market in Baker City for 25 years.

Mrs. Rayborn was a member of the Baker City First Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Joyce Rayborn of Portland; a daughter, Barbara Beeson of Baker City, a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Donald Morgan of Sauquoit, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Norma Jolley of Bruneau, Idaho; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Irene Jolley of Molalla, Edsel and Beverly Jolley of Keizer, and John Jay and Alice Jolley of Caldwell, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Rayborn was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Rayborn; her parents, Reuben Jolley and Ezra McGavin; four sisters, Talley Vanek, Lula Baird, Wanda Smith and Agnes Hogg; two brothers, Bill Jolley and Woodrow Jolley; and a grandson, David Snyder.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Primary Children’s Hospital in care of the Coles-Strommer Funeral Home, 1950 Place St., Baker City, Ore., 97814.
