Obituary of Mrs. Simone Celene DeBel Moore

Simone Celene Moore (1922-2008), formerly of La Grande, passed away on August 4, 2008, at the age of 85 in a Baker City care center. Born on August 24, 1922, in Baker City to Belgian immigrants Camiel and Germaine Corteville DeBel, Simone excelled in music, playing violin and viola. She married James Kelly Moore on April 5, 1942, and played with the Grande Ronde Symphony for 51 years. Simone was active in her church and community, and worked as a substitute teacher. She is survived by her daughter, Monique Hendrix, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held on August 8, 2008, in La Grande.
