Arthur Delbert Rose, 87, died Friday, Sept 30, 1994, at the Grande Ronde Retirement Residence, La Grande, after an extended illness. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Enterprise Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Morrison officiating. Bollman Funeral Home of Enterprise is in charge of the arrangements. Roop, Helen Dora – Obituary

Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon Helen Dora, the eleven months old babe of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Roop, died at the home Tuesday morning of acute indigestion. She had always been well until a few days before she was stricken. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Bogue from the home and interment made in the Wallowa cemetery. Charlton French Roop, 92, of Enterprise, died at Wallowa Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 7, 1997. Mr. Roop was born July 5, 1904, to Franklin Monroe and Ida (Hawley) Roop at Middlepoint near Promise. He was a lumber grader by trade, both at Bowman-Hicks and Bates lumber companies in Wallowa. He was a kind and gentle man, family members said. He spent much of his life in service to his family, they said. Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon Local people were grieved to learn through a telegram to Mrs. Mae McGregor, of the death last Wednesday morning, Dec. 5 of J.C. Rooney, merchant of Wallowa and who with his son Norval conducted a meat market and grocery in North Powder until early this fall. He died at Clarkston, Wash., after a protracted illness. Bright’s disease was the direct cause of his death. Mr. Rooney had gone to Clarkston about two months ago to be under the care of physicians there. No funeral arrangements have as yet been announced. George Monroe Rogers born June 1, 1877 Tennessee died May 10. 1852 George Rogers, long time public official in Wallowa County, died Saturday at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital, after two sieges of sickness which kept him from his Justice of Peace office in the courthouse for the past month. Funeral services were held at the Community Church in Enterprise on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Rogers was 75 years of age. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Mrs. Henrietta Rogers (sic) born October 15, 1854, in Missouri, died December 15th, 1919 in Enterprise, Oregon, aged 65 years and two months. The deceased was married to Robt. D. Rodgers in 1869 and to this union was born three sons, James W., Chas. J., Edward E., all of whom survive her. A sister Ellen Hubbard and a brother Chas. A. Graves also survive her. Josephine (Reichmuth) Ridgley was born near Zurich, Switzerland May 14, 1888. She immigrated to the United States in the early 1900’s with her sister Marie to Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington to join other family members that lived there. Miss Reichmuth was married to Charles Franklin Jaensch Sr. in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington in 1909. To this union was born two sons; Charles Franklin Jaensch Jr. and Joseph William Jaensch. Alder Slope, Wallowa County, Oregon Harry Richards died at his home on Alder Slope from Spanish Influenza. He was 28 years of age and passed away on Friday, Nov. 29. Burial services were held at Alder Slope cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 30. He leaves a wife and two children, his parents Mr. And Mrs. T. Richards of Joseph and four brothers. Rich, Fred (Mary) Goebel Mrs. – Obituary

Mrs. Fred Rich, resident of Wallowa for the last 48 years, passed away Friday morning (May 29, 1936) following a lingering illness. While the end came somewhat suddenly, she had been in failing health for more than a year and her recovery had long been despaired of. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon at 3:30, with a large number of friends and relatives paying their final tribute and a mass of flowers testifying to their esteem. He was born April 13, 1925, at Walla Walla, Wash., the son of Earl and Pansy Reynolds. He attended high school in Anatone. Mr. Reynolds moved to Grouse Flats in 1937.
